Tyler R. Mayo
Bio
A Central Texas native, Tyler Mayo graduated from Texas A&M University, before heading west to law school at the Texas Tech University School of Law.
Before and during law school, Tyler was an intern at the Travis County District Attorney’s Office. During his third year of law school, Tyler had the opportunity to work in the Caprock Regional Public Defender Office. In this position, Tyler represented indigent clients accused of crimes throughout many West Texas counties. Upon graduating from law school, Tyler worked as a prosecutor with the Randall County District Attorney’s Office in Canyon, Texas.
After marrying a native Midlander, Tyler moved to the Tall City and worked as both a misdemeanor and felony prosecutor at the Midland County District Attorney’s Office. Tyler was instrumental in the founding of DWI Court as a part of the Midland County Drug Court. Tyler has extensive knowledge of the Drug Court application process and procedures, making him an incredible advocate for assisting his clients with admissions into the program.
In addition to DWI Court, Tyler assisted with the creation of the Environmental Enforcement Unit for violations including illegal dumping and water pollution. These crimes are unique and require knowledge and expertise of the law that most attorneys do not have. Tyler understands how the environmental investigations are conducted and uses this knowledge to benefit and effectively represent his clients.
Showing his commitment to Midland, Tyler is also actively involved as a board member of the Midland Teen Court and the Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas Advisory Board.
Whether it’s a Class C Misdemeanor or a First Degree Felony, Tyler is a zealous advocate for his clients.
